Social Activation of Vulnerable Groups Using Digital Tools

Course overview

This comprehensive 5-day course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and strategies to leverage digital tools for promoting social activation and empowerment among vulnerable groups. Recognizing the need for a holistic approach, the course caters to a diverse audience, including educators, NGO staff, social workers, community leaders, policymakers, and tech professionals.

The course will delve into the concept of social activation, exploring its significance for vulnerable groups and the role digital tools can play in fostering their participation and empowerment. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the potential of digital technologies in this context and learn how to effectively utilize them in various settings.
Emphasis will be placed on developing digital skills for effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. Participants will enhance their proficiency in using digital tools for these purposes, enabling them to design and implement successful social activation initiatives tailored to the needs of vulnerable groups.

The course will also provide a platform for sharing good practices and case studies, allowing participants to learn from successful examples and analyze how their learnings can be adapted to different contexts, including their organizations. Participants will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios, such as designing and implementing social activation initiatives using digital tools.

To enhance the learning experience and provide a cultural context, the course will incorporate a guided cultural visit within Čakovec and Međimurje County. This visit will allow participants to explore local heritage sites, sustainable initiatives, or eco-conscious organizations, drawing inspiration and practical examples for integrating inclusive and sustainable practices into their social activation strategies.

  • Cultural visit (e.g. museum, heritage site) guided in English to explore local heritage and sustainability practices

Day 5: Reflection, evaluation, and future planning

The classes typically run from 9 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon, with the afternoon and evening reserved for self-reflection and individual study. However, the course schedule may be adjusted to accommodate the preferences of the participants and the availability of instructors or external learning locations. Participants will receive the finalized schedule well in advance, allowing ample time for preparation and planning.

Learning outcomes:

The participants will be able to:

Course fee:

  • 400 euro per participant (covered entirely by the Erasmus grant)
